To be honest, the only resolution I did years back, wasn't made on the January 1st. I did it sometime in November, don't know exactly when. I decided that no matter what, from that day I'll practice daily The Five Tibetan Exercises. I have been doing them regularly ever since (I think it will be at least 5 years now, I didn't remember the date, because I don't think it is important.) The exercises have done a lot of good to me, but that was not what I wanted to share with you.
I wanted you to think what will truly bring THE GOOD in your life and choose that over anything else.

These few lines helped me a lot.
As the 14th century sufi mystic Hafiz explained in one of his verse:
Learn to recognize the counterfeit coins
That may buy you just a moment of pleasure,
But then drag you for days
Like a broken man
Behind a farting camel.
